With
nowhere to go we squatted in an unused temporary building known here
as a port-a-cabin that was owned by the Derry City Council. The "building"
measured about 12 by 20 feet and housed our fledgling community group
as well as the Treehouse Playgroup - space was tight to say the least.
|

Since
those days we have expanded to the point where we
now have our own premises - converted from an abandoned school canteen.
With help from the National Lottery and the Department of Social Development
we have completed renovated the building. Key members of the team
responsible for this include three people who have been with us since
the birth of the idea of the resource centre ...

Thomas
(Tommy) Mc Court our Manager- an "outsider" born in the
Bogside, Tommy is now an considered to be an honorary "villager"
. Tommy is actively involved in the drugs and alcohol awareness project.

Born
and bred in Rosemount, Sean Young is more than just Chairperson of
our Management Committee, Sean is on site every day and as well as
being a member of the Cnoc Na Ros club he is active in the Romanian
Relief effort ...

A
Rosemount "personality" Elaine Power is our Development
Officer and member of the women's group.
